Project Introduction

The steel workshop project we display today is a steel structure workshop with mezzanine floor.


The factory plant building with a mezzanine has several convenient advantages:

  1. Increased Floor Area: The Mezzanine adds extra space without expanding the building area.

  2. Enhanced Flexibility: Mezzanine floors can be used to partition different functional areas, increasing flexibility and diversity within the warehouse.

  3. Improved Storage Efficiency: Mezzanine floors provide additional storage space, enhancing storage efficiency and enabling more effective management and storage of goods.

  4. Optimized Workflow: Mezzanine floors can be can be adjusted and modified as needed, office areas, assembly zones, or other workspaces, optimizing internal workflows and operations.

Technical specifications


STEEL STRUCTURE DESIGN SPECIFICATION

1. Loads

Roof dead load: 0.25 kN/m 2

Roof live load: 0.3 kN/m2

Wind speed or wind load: 100km/h

Anti-seismic:7 grade


2. Materials

Main beam and post: GB Q355B grade, welded H steel section.

Sub-steel structure: GB Q235B grade, steel bar, pipe, angle steel, etc.

Purlin: galvanized, C-section.


3. Welding

The minimum size of the fillet welding for any that is not defined in the

drawings shall be 6mm with full welding.


4. Fasteners( bolts and nuts) for jointing

High Strength bolts Class 10.9 used to connect the Steel Columns and

pressure type high strength bolts Class 10.9 used to connect the

constructional elements.


5. Derusting and painting or hot-dip galvanized

Shot blasting to 2.5 and Applying Paint with the following

1st coat of Primary anti-rust paint 30 microns (Epoxy zinc-rich primer)

2nd coat of Primary anti-rust paint 30 microns(Alkyd finish)

60~80 microns (hot-dip galvanized)

What factors need to be considered when designing a steel workshop?

  1. Structural Safety:

    Determine the right steel type, specification, and strength to bear expected loads and adopt seismic-resistant design in earthquake-prone areas.


  2. Functional Requirements:

    Plan the workshop layout based on the production process and flow, allocating space for different areas and considering equipment installation and operation needs.


  3. Space Utilization:

    Design reasonable column grid spacing and floor height and use mezzanines or attics to increase space.


  4. Fire Protection Design:

    Select fireproof materials and measures and set up evacuation channels and exits.
