This small warehouse project in Hong Kong consists of 3 units 225m2 warehouses.
Hong Kong has limited land and a high population, making land resources especially scarce in commercial and industrial areas. Small steel structure warehouses provide a solution for small businesses or e-commerce companies that need flexible storage space. Since land is in short supply, steel warehouses can efficiently use the limited space available.
Why small warehouse is popular?
High Demand for Storage Space
Quick Construction and Low Cost
Flexibility and Expandability
High Return on Investment
Adaptability to the Environment
Low Maintenance
The installation videos for the project
1. Loads
Roof dead load: 0.25 kN/m 2
Roof live load: 0.3 kN/m2
Wind speed or wind load: 100km/h
Anti-seismic:7 grade
2. Materials component in mm
Steel column: HN248*124*5*8 (Q235B)
Wind column: HN198*99*4.5*7 (Q235B)
Steel beam: HN248*124*5*8 (Q235B)
Tie rod: ∅89X3.0 (Q235B)
Column bracing: ∅20 steel bar (Q235B)
Horizontal bracing: ∅20 steel bar (Q235B)
Knee-brace: L50X3.0 (Q235B)
Roof purlin: C160*50*20*2.0(Galvanized)
Wall purlin: C160*50*20*2.0(Galvanized)
Bracing: ∅12 steel bar (Q235B)
Rod brace: ∅35*2.5 steel pipe (Q235B)
Connecting plate: 6mm~20mm steel plate (Q235B)
Roof panel: 0.5mm corrugated steel sheet (Ivory white)
Wall panel: 0.5mm corrugated steel sheet (Ivory white)
Gutter: 2.0mm galvanized
Down pipe: ∅110 PVC with accessories
Trimming: 0.5mm steel sheet
3. Welding
The minimum size of the fillet welding for any that is not defined in the
drawings shall be 6mm with full welding. The term "full welding" refers to the weld that must be applied across the entire thickness of the joint to ensure full fusion and a strong connection between the parts.
4. Fasteners( bolts and nuts) for jointing
High Strength bolts Class 10.9 used to connect the Steel Columns and
pressure type high strength bolts Class 10.9 used to connect the
constructional elements.
Anchor bolt : M24
High strength bolt: M20
Common bolt: M20
Galvanized bolt: M12
Turnbuckle: M20
5. Derusting and painting
Shot blasting to 2.5 and Applying Paint with the following
2 layers of primary anti-rust paint 80 microns.
1 coat of alkyd finishes paint 30-40 microns.
Why need derusting before painting?
Derusting is essential before painting a steel structure frame to ensure proper adhesion, prevent further corrosion, enhance durability, and meet aesthetic and safety standards. Without proper surface preparation, the paint may not provide the expected level of protection, leading to increased maintenance costs and shorter service life for the structure.
